Description
What Roger Kabler does is not an impression. That word isn’t sufficient to describe what he does. For an hour or so on stage, he becomes Robin Williams. More than three years have passed since the mercurial comic legend’s suicide, but Kabler resurrects Williams’ look, his voice, his manic energy, for an hour at a time on stage in The Ultimate Robin Williams Tribute Experience. “You don’t have any idea how difficult it is to do this act,” Kabler said in a recent phone interview. “It’s mentally and physically exhausting. And I feel like Robin is there saying, ‘Do you have any idea how hard it is to come back to life? Especially in your body?’ “My mission is to bring his mission back to life. I think he was on a peacekeeping mission. He was a great soul, like the Dalai Lama. He saw cracking you up as a way of releasing our best sides.” -Mike Holtzclaw, Contact Reporter, Daily Press In addition to playing Skippy on Family Ties, Price also played Eddie ‘Ragman’ Weinbauer in the 1986 film Trick or Treat. Price appeared with Kevin Dillon in the 1988 action-adventure film The Rescue. He then hosted the game show Teen Win, Lose or Draw on The Disney Channel (1989–92). While hosting the game show, Price played the young American tourist calling himself Michael J. Fox in Killer Tomatoes Eat France in 1991 with John Astin, Angela Visser and Steve Lundquist. As a stand-up comedian, Price draws heavily on his experiences of growing up in Hollywood. He appeared on Last Comic Standing and for over 15 years, was a regular performer at Harrah’s in Las Vegas while simultaneously working as a producer in Hollywood. During the rest of the 2000s onward, he has predominantly acted as writer/producer for cable television networks such as Disney Channel, Food Network, Animal Planet, GSN, Showtime, as well as producing the TBS game show Midnight Money Madness. In September 2013, Price began appearing occasionally on Fox Sports Live with Jay and Dan on Fox Sports.
